Mr. Nakahara also discussed his work on Ms. Tabei’s office. A graphic designer and art director would have posters in the common B1 size spread on their workbench, so a way to store them without folding is needed. Bookshelves and storage also work to divide the space. In any case, the space is dense with various items.

The workbench, bookshelf, and combined bookshelf and storage unit, along with other elements, are original designs planned and made by Mr. Nakahara.
“The workbench is the major component here, right after the floor, walls and ceiling. It might just be that I’m not aware of everything, but I didn’t find one that I liked among existing products. In addition, it’s easy to think of it as part of the space, as an extension of architecture. While cost is also a factor, I chose linden plywood for its characteristics such as its gentle texture and feel. I left ornaments out and went for a minimalist approach.”
