Vol.12 Creating Biophilic Spaces through Photography

Selecting photographs to be part of the interior

Another important point is not to consider the photographs in isolation. “We make proposals that take into account the colour tones of the space”, the kivi team explain.

The members of the team have also been involved in interior design work. As a result, they select photos not only by looking at their subjects, but also by considering their relationship with the furniture, materials, lighting, wall colours, and even the architecture and landscape.

They have also previously installed their photographs at other properties in the WORK VILLA series. Looking at the photographs, the works do not stand out independently, instead becoming part of the space together with furniture and lighting.

In other words, rather than “displaying” the photographs, they are treated as one of the materials that make up the space, just like wood, stone and fabric.
