The new office is “combined from two apartments, with common furniture encircling the window-side in a U shape”, Inokuma explains. The wall between the two original apartments has a meeting space on each side – multiple projects can proceed simultaneously.

The individual parts may seem even cold and bare, but the picture is different when you look at the NARUSE・INOKUMA ARCHITECTS office that was put together using them: you see a lively architecture office with employees engaged in meetings, documents piled up and blueprints spread out on desks. It seems that the simplicity of the furniture helps the energy packed in the space flow more freely.

Perhaps most appealing is the colour palette: shades of Ivy Green, Dark Grey, Strong Yellow and Rusty Red create a modern impression out of originally very inorganic forms.
