The ORGATEC TOKYO 2023 theme, [SHIFT DESIGN],
explored how good design can influence ever changing societies, workstyles, and lifestyles, and transform them for the better.

The 2nd ORGATEC TOKYO, which took place in April 2023, saw over 26,000 visitors join 127 exhibitors from Japan and abroad for 3 days of innovative product showcases, seminars on the future of workspace design and workstyles, networking and more.

Opening Ceremony

VP Asia Pacific, Koelnmesse GmbH, Mathias Kuepper, delivered the opening speech and was joined by Chairman of the Japan Office and Institutional Furniture Association, Akihiro Kuroda, President and CEO of Okumura Corporation, Masayuki Nakamura, Hiroyuki Tsukamoto of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Chairman of the New Office Promotion Association, Kunihiro Misu for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

BEST PRESENTATION AWARDS

The BEST PRESENTATION AWARDS sought to select the booth designs that best evoked the trade fair theme [SHIFT DESIGN]. The grand prize winner was KOKUYO Co., Ltd., while Runner-up Prizes were delivered to Itoki Corporation, Sumisho Interior International Inc. and Nichiesu.

Keynote Speech

Renowned interior designer Primo Orpilla kicked off the fair with a keynote speech on the next generation of office design and joined ELLE DÉCOR Brand Director Ryuko Kida for an engaging Q&A session.

Xperience Area

Visitors were able to experience the trade fair theme at the Xperience Area, which featured a biophilic garden that highlighted the connection between work, design and nature. This area served as the stage for presentations by top brands such as Okamura, Itoki and Kokuyo on their visions for the The future work style.
